The Sacrament of Reconciliation is an objective encounter with the boundless mercy of God. For more information about this Sacrament see here. All Catholics are encouraged to go to Confession every few months, and at least once a year. If you have not gone to confession for a long time, do not be afraid. You are very welcome at any time!
In order to prepare for the Sacrament, a person should thoroughly examine his or her conscience. A few helpful guides are found here.
Children in second grade and above who are in their second year of religious education are candidates for First Penance, which in our parish is usually held around February. During the seasons of Advent and Lent, our parish and other nearby Catholic churches hold communal penance services. During these seasons there are also extra opportunities for individual confession. Please consult the weekly bulletin for all special services.
